Don't Get Around Much Anymore

In the inaugural episode of The Art of Lyrics with David Levin, we explore “Don’t Get Around Much Anymore,” with music by Duke Ellington and lyrics by Bob Russell.

It’s a masterclass in making every word count. Among other things, we’ll look at how the lyrics work with the melody to paint a rich emotional picture in remarkably few words. And we’ll talk about several lessons songwriters can use in their own songs.

Enjoy!
